Stroke Awareness Month is coming up in May

See the 2012 Press Release from the Minnesota Department of Health. Now is the time to plan activities in your community. The Minnesota Stroke Partnership has updated its Stroke Awareness and Education Resource Toolkit, a guide to a variety of free or low-cost education materials specifically designed to increase the awareness of stroke signs & symptoms and the need to call 9-1-1. New additions to the toolkit for 2011 include access to customizable graphic files with the FAST message and a guide to materials available in multiple languages.

Save the date for the 2012 Minnesota Stroke Conference

to be held on Monday, June 4, 2012 at the University of Minnesota Continuing Education and Conference Center, 1890 Buford Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55108. More information is available on the Minnesota Stroke Conference webpage. This page includes instructions on responding to the Call for Presentations (proposals accepted through February 17, 2012) and a form to request exhibit space (limited space available). Registration is $50 and will open on March 19, 2012.

The Institute for Clinical Systems Improvement

(ICSI) has published its new stroke guidelines and order sets. These are available for free to use.

The Minnesota Stroke Partnership has published a Google map of Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Centers in Minnesota and in bordering regions of adjacent states. Please follow this link to access this map of Minnesota Primary Stroke Centers.

The Minnesota Stroke Partnership is coordinated by the Minnesota Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Unit at the Minnesota Department of Health.
