The Stroke Public Education Work Group aims to develop and coordinate stroke awareness, training, and education plans for a variety of audiences in Minnesota. This work group is charged with addressing the stroke component of Strategy 2.2.1 in the Minnesota Heart Disease & Stroke Prevention Plan: 2011-2020 -- Disseminate consistent, evidence-based educational materials to all Minnesotans on the signs, symptoms and emergency response to vascular disease events including myocardial infarction and stroke.

The first meeting of this group took place in November 2011, and was redefined in 2012 as a partnership between the Minnesota Stroke Association, Minnesota Department of Health, and Minnesota Stroke Partnership.
In addition to implementing new strategies and developing new products, this work group is charged with reviewing and updating the Stroke Awareness and Education Resource Toolkit, first released in September 2009. The current version is available for download on the Resources page.
